A healthy, trained, and well-socialized puppy is always worth the investment. If a puppy is cheap, you should be concerned about its upbringing.

Adoption Process

1. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION

The first step in our adoption process is to get in touch with us via phone, email, or our website after you have completed our adoption application. Once you've expressed interest in adopting one of our puppies, we'll schedule a meeting to discuss your preferences, lifestyle, and expectations for your new furry friend. This initial conversation helps us ensure that our puppies are a good fit for your family and that you're prepared to provide them with a loving forever home.

Click the button below to answer a few simple questions. To contact us, email aleksartist@outlook.com or visit my "Contact" page

2. SECURE YOUR PUPPY

If both parties agree to move forward, the next step involves placing a deposit to reserve your chosen puppy. The amount is a firm $500. This deposit secures your spot on our adoption list and helps us cover the cost of caring for your puppy until they're ready to go to their new home. If you do not wish to place a deposit, you may risk the chance to adopt one of our puppies, as their breed and characteristics are well-saught after. Deposit methods include cash or e-transfer and a receipt will be provided.

To make them feel comfortable right away, your puppy will arrive with a collar, blanket, and a favourite toy. We always welcome updates and pictures of your growing puppy!

F.A.Q.

ADOPTION PROCESS

  1. How do I adopt a puppy?
    • Start by filling out our adoption application form, available on our website.

    • Once your application is received, we'll review it and contact you to schedule a meeting.

    • If you decide to proceed with adoption, we'll guide you through the necessary steps and payment process.

    • Please note, that we do not allow in-person visits with the puppies until they are 5 weeks old to avoid spreading potential illness or disease, as their immune systems are still weak and developing.

  2. Can I reserve a puppy before they are ready to go home?
    • Yes, we offer puppy reservations with a non-refundable deposit. Deposits are 25% of the total adoption fee. This deposit is generally used for veterinarian fees including a wellness check and the first core vaccine round.

  3. What is included in the adoption fee?
    • Our adoption fee covers the puppy's care for their first 8 weeks, including the first round of their core vaccines and a health certificate from our veterinarian. Along with their vet record, you will receive a new blanket, toy and dog collar and a small sample of holistic puppy food.

HEALTH TERMS & CONDITIONS

  1. Are the puppies vaccinated and dewormed?
    • All puppies will only receive their first round of the 3 core vaccines (canine distemper (CDV), canine parvovirus 2 (CPV-2), and canine adenovirus 2 (CAV)) at 8 weeks of age. It is recommended to finish the two rounds of vaccines at 12 weeks and 16 weeks old then once again 1 year later, and every 3 years thereafter. Please see this website to learn more about dog vaccinations and how to safely administer them to avoid over-vaccination. My puppies will not be dewormed, as frequent deworming in puppies can lead to overmedication and the development of drug-resistant parasites. It may disrupt the balance of the gut microbiota, potentially affecting digestion and immune function. It is up to you, as the adopter, to decide if you want to deworm your puppy once you bring him or her home.

  2. Do you provide health guarantees?
    • While we take every precaution to ensure the health of our puppies, we cannot offer guarantees once they leave our care. However, we provide a health certificate from our veterinarian at the time of adoption to ensure the puppy is healthy with no known medical issues, without worms and their first round of core vaccines.

  3. What if the puppy develops health issues after adoption?
    • We recommend taking your new puppy to a veterinarian for a check-up within the first week of adoption. Any health issues that arise after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.

PAYMENT PROCESS

  1. How much is the adoption fee?
    • Our adoption fee varies depending on the physical characteristics of our puppies and is higher for puppies who are born with blue eyes. Please see Our Puppies page for our current litter of pups and their pricing.

  2. What forms of payment do you accept?
    • We accept cash and e-transfer only for deposit and adoption fees.

  3. Is the adoption fee refundable?
    • The adoption fee is non-refundable. However, in certain circumstances, such as if the puppy develops a serious health issue before adoption, we may offer a partial refund or credit toward another adoption. However, this is highly unlikely as we take great care in raising our puppies and the chance of a serious, fatal health issue after 4 weeks old, is almost non-existent with healthy puppies.

POST-ADOPTION RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. What are my responsibilities as an adopter?
    • As an adopter, you are responsible for providing a loving and safe environment for your new puppy.

    • This includes regular veterinary care, proper nutrition, training, and socialization.

  2. What are your limitations as the seller?
    • While we strive to provide accurate information about the puppies, we cannot guarantee their future behaviour, size, or health.

    • We are not responsible for any expenses incurred after the adoption, including veterinary bills or behavioural training.

  3. Do you offer support after the adoption?
    • Yes, we're here to support you throughout your puppy's life. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or if you're interested in adopting one of our Texas Heeler puppies!
